The Chapel itself is half a mile from the quiet Cumbrian Village of Garrigill which is nestled in the Heart of Alston Moor in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Close to the borders of both County Durham and Northumberland it allows the visitors to explore all three counties within a short drive.

Our postcode is CA9 3DH and the chapel is just off the road into Garrigill from Alston.

From the M6 you follow signs from Junction 40 at Penrith on the A686 towards Alston. Before Alston you take the sign to Garrigill through Leadgate, turn right and follow the road, bear left through the village of Garrigill and over the bridge. We are another 1/2 a mile on the right.

From the Middleton road – Barnard Castle and A66 follow the B6277 for 15 miles from Middleton in Teasdale and you’ll see a sign for Garrigill on your left. Go down the steep hill and at the T junction at the bottom turn right and we are on your right.

From the North/Carlisle take the A69 towards Hexham and then turn right onto the A689 to Alston. After about 20 miles turn left, go past the spar, then right into Alston town, up the hill and follow the road out for another 3 miles – signed Garrigill. Take a right turn towards Garrigill and we are down that hill a mile on the left.

(Do not go through the big gateway in front of the chapel as this is a private entrance, park at the bottom of the steps and Sarka-jo will show you the parking options.)
